GRACIE Invitational Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2005 proved to be a
Quality competition with top names in Jiu-Jitsu fighting for the honours, Chris
(CAMARAO) Hearn winning the GOLD medal in the SuperFeather Division, winning a
excellent semi final with smart tactics, to control and dominate
the action never once being out of position or in trouble of any kind, Chris
& Leo Aguilar both club mates from the Roger Gracie Academy showcased their
Skills in an Exhibition final which was beautiful to watch, Both
fighters showed complete unselfishness in putting the team before personal
glory. Nick once again ended up in the big half of the draw, Having to
fight more than anyone else, Nick in his Preliminary Round match was involved
in Trench Warfare against his extremely tough Japanese opponent, After 6
gruelling minutes the score was 0-0 points & 0-0 Advantages, After a long
deliberation The referee's decision was in favour of Nick for being more
aggressive, But it was so close neither could be disappointed if they didn’t
get the decision, Nick & Ebbe Gracie Barra
Representatives & friends fought each other in the Semi Final
with Nick winning by Arm Bar in 31/2 minutes, In a fight that could have gone
either way up until the finish, Ebbe is quality fighter (Double GOLD
medalist European Championships 2005 Featherweight Division & Open Class)
who must be treated with caution or you will be made to pay, In the
Featherweight Final Nick fought Chris Brown from Gracie Barra Manchester in a
hard fought match, Chris choked Unconscious Javeed also from Gracie Barra
in his semi final (A very frightening moment for all watching, Glad to report
that Javeed made a full recovery) Chris Pulled guard straight away nick opened
his guard and passed to side control before the fight was temporarily stopped
because nick received a cut next to his right eye (Accidental Elbow)
When the final resumed Nick immediately went on the attack before the cut could
become worse, Nick mounted controlled the position before taking his opponents
arm for the submission Victory in under 3 minutes. Once again a great day for
M.H.J.J.C 2 Fighters 2 GOLD medals. Nick once again didn't concede a
single point in all his fights
