Nick Brooks

Nick Brooks Started Martial Arts in 1982 with amateur boxing,
Representing Hendon ABC & All Stars ABC before hanging up his gloves in 1989,
Now with lots of free time Started looking for a martial art that would complement
the skills learnt in the ring, Then in 1990 After trying many different systems
Nick Discovered Goshin Ryu Ju-Jitsu, a modern style of Ju-Jitsu taught at
Mill Hill Ju-Jitsu Club by Sensei Jeff Saywer, Then later by Sensei Alan Arnold & Sensei Darryl Jones,
In 1995 missing the competitive side of things Nick also started to train
Submission Wrestling & Sombo With Dean James, Whilst continuing
Ju-Jitsu at mill hill in December 1996 Nick Received his Shodan
from the Kensekai Associations Sensei Phil Courtney,
Sensei John Griffiths & Sensei Jeff Sawyer. In 1997
Nick qualified as a NABBA Weight Training & Fitness Instructor,
Then in 1998 Nick received his Nidan from the Kensekai Associations Sensei Jeff Sawyer,
And in 1999 whilst still training Submission Wrestling With Dean James
fought a couple of mixed martial arts contests which At that time was
in its very early stages in the UK, In 2000 became a Trainee Instructor under Guru Bob Breen
in the art of Kali/JKD. In 2001 Nick received his Sandan from Mushin Budo Associations sensei John Griffiths,
and In 2002 Started Attending Courses & Seminars being taught by Shodai Soke Kevin Pell 8th Dan,
It was at an Ishin Ryu Seminar that Nick met Sensei Joao Santos 4th Dan Ju-Jitsu & purple belt
under Royler Gracie who introduced Nick to Brazilian JiuJitsu, Nick made frequent trips to
portugal to train with Joao where an unbreakable friendship was forged,
On Saturday the 29th of March 2003, Soke Kevin Pell inaugurated
Nick Brooks Sensei into the Guild of Renmei Yudansha at the
13th anniversary presentation dinner of the Sekai Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu Renmei.
Nick Brooks Sensei is now entitled to use the designation MGRY
(Member of the Guild of Renmei Yudansha) after his name.
At Joao's recomendation In February 2004
Nick started training at the Roger Gracie Academy in London,
and continues to train there to this day, In December 2004 Nick was awrded his Blue belt by Roger Gracie, Whilst competing
at the European Brazilian JiuJitsu championsips in Portugal 2005,
Nick met Sensei Ebe Ghansah who runs Gracie-Barra Milton Keynes
training Brazilian JiuJitsu under Braulio Estima,
In december 2005 Nick Received his Yondan from Mushin Budo Associations
sensei John Griffiths, On Nicks return from Brazil in September 2006 Nick was Awarded his Purple belt by Roger Gracie,
Nick still continues to teach at Mill hill Ju-Jitsu club,
whilst dividing his training time between the
Roger Gracia Academy & Gracie-Barra Milton Keynes,
and making frequent trips to portugal to train with Joao,
On September 19th 2007 Nick was awarded his Brown belt by Roger Gracie,
